FAQ Video on demand

Here you will find an overview of the most frequently asked questions and answers regarding Nederlands Dans Theater’s online performances in the Digital Theatre.

How does it work?

Step 1: Choose when you want to watch

Not all online performances are available in the same way. Some are offered as live streams, others can be watched via Video on Demand (VOD).

Live streams: watch in real time at a set date and time. It is not possible to pause, rewind, or watch the performance later. Make sure to check the time in your own time zone and be ready to start on time.

VODs: these performances are available for 48 hours. Within that window, you can choose when to watch.

Each performance in the programme indicates whether it is a live stream or a VOD.
Click here to view the programme and stay updated about NDT Online.

Step 2: Buy your ticket

Go to the order page and fill in the form. We need your e-mail address to send your ticket to. After payment, you will receive a unique link within 15 minutes, which is valid on the day in question. In the e-mail and via the link, you will again find for which date and time your ticket is valid.

When you purchase a subscription, you will receive a separate, unique viewing link for each program. You will not receive a viewing link within 15 minutes, but first a confirmation email of your purchase. The unique viewing link will follow shortly afterwards in a separate email.

Step 3: Mark it in your calendar

Did you buy your ticket a while ago? Make sure to put the correct date and time in your calendar, so you don’t forget the performance!
And did you buy the package? Then add all performance dates to your calendar right away.

Do you live in a country other than the Netherlands? Do a time zone check just to be sure. You can do that easily via this website.

Step 4: Watch the online performance!

Whether you're watching a livestream or a video-on-demand (VOD), each online performance is only available during a specific time window.
For livestreams, this means watching at a fixed time — pausing, rewinding, or watching later is not possible.
For VODs, you can choose when to watch, as long as it's within the availability period.
Exact dates and times are listed in the programme. Make sure you're ready on time!

Experiencing problems while watching or do you have questions? Our helpdesk is open from 09:00 - 17:00 and during live streams. Contact us via chat in the Digital Theatre or via email on digitaaltheater@ndt.nl

Step 5: Tell us what you think!

We are very curious about your opinion on our digital platform what you think of the experience. That way, we can continue to improve and cater to your needs. Afterwards, we will send an e-mail with a short questionnaire and extra material about the performance.
