NDT’s Dancer Pathway supports dancers throughout different stages of their careers. From young talent and pre professional dancers to the artists of NDT 1 and NDT 2, it provides opportunities for continuous growth, artistic development, and the exploration of new pathways within the profession.

The world of professional dance is evolving rapidly. Dancers are expected to navigate an increasingly complex and dynamic field, and a sustainable career requires continuous growth beyond technical and artistic training. At NDT, we support dancers at every stage of their journey, from emerging talent to experienced artists.

Through our Dancer Pathway, we create opportunities for dancers to grow throughout their careers. We support them not only as performers, but also as creators, teachers, mentors, and leaders. By combining professional training, creative processes, coaching, mentorship, and hands on experience, we help dancers develop the skills, resilience, and artistic curiosity needed to build meaningful and sustainable careers in dance.

At the heart of our Dancer Pathway is a commitment to support the whole artist. Through coaching, mentorship, and a culture of open dialogue, we create an environment where artistic ambition is balanced with physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Young Talent

Young dancers and (pre)professional talent are introduced to the professional dance field. They are given the space to meet NDT, develop their artistic curiosity, explore their potential, and gain experience within the practice of an international dance company in projects such as NDT Summer Intensive, NDT 2 internships and auditions, and Young Talent Project.
Professional development

Dancers continue to build their technical, artistic, and professional skills. Through training, rehearsals, creative processes, performances, and international touring, they develop into versatile artists who can thrive in a rapidly evolving field.
Artistic Exploration & Creation

NDT encourages dancers to explore and develop their own artistic voice, a.o. via the Maker Pathway . Through research, experimentation, choreographic projects, and collaboration with a wide range of artists, they are given opportunities to deepen their creativity and discover new artistic directions.
Knowledge Sharing & Leadership

Dancers are encouraged to share their knowledge, experience, and perspectives. As teachers, coaches, rehearsal directors, or mentors, they develop new skills while contributing to the growth of the next generation of dance artists.
