Coordinator Company Management (m/f/x)
100% employment (38 hours per week) | Full-time | Office-based, The Hague
Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies. With two companies and a total of 48 dancers, NDT tours the globe. Behind the scenes, a passionate team of around 70 professionals works daily to create unforgettable performances. From medical support, lighting and sound design, costumes and marketing to educational programmes: everything revolves around quality — and people.
The Role. We are looking for a Coordinator Company Management to provide operational coordination and oversight to the Company Management function for NDT 1 and NDT 2.
This is a full-time, office-based role of 38 hours per week, working five days a week on site at Amare in The Hague. There is no working from home associated with this position, and the role does not involve touring. The role combines hands-on operational work, planning and coordination with overseeing the day-to-day work of the two Company Managers. You will help ensure that priorities are clear, deadlines are met and activities are coordinated effectively across Company Management and the wider organisation.
The Company Managers remain part of the wider management structure and this role does not carry formal line-management responsibility. Instead, you will coordinate their work, priorities and deadlines, ensuring that agreed actions are followed through and that the Company Management function operates effectively. You will work closely with artistic, production and operational colleagues across NDT.
What You’ll Do?
As Coordinator Company Management, you will:
- In consultation with the Manager of Planning & Touring, coordinate the day-to-day work of the Company Managers for NDT 1 and NDT 2, maintaining an overview of priorities, workload and deadlines and ensuring agreed actions are followed through, while acting as a central point of contact for relevant artistic, operational and production colleagues.
- Provide hands-on operational support to the Company Management function and ensure continuity of work where required.
Planning & Preparation
- Contribute to the short- to- medium term planning of international tour schedules, productions, events and other Company Management activities, advising on feasibility where required.
- Oversee the logistics of guest teacher visits each season and act as the point of contact.
- Support the annual auditions and collaborate with the artistic team where required.
Collaboration
- Build positive working relationships across the organisation and contribute to a collaborative and supportive working environment
Who Are You?
As well as a passion for culture and an eye for detail, you will recognise yourself in the following:
- You have an HBO working and thinking level (higher professional education) and at least 5 years’ relevant experience in the theatre, performing arts or cultural sector, preferably in company management, production, planning, operations or a similar role.
- You have strong planning, coordination and organisational skills, and are comfortable managing multiple priorities, deadlines and competing demands.
- You have relevant experience and are confident in coordinating the work of colleagues, following up on actions and deadlines, and keeping people on track, without necessarily having formal line-management responsibility.
- You are proactive and take ownership of your work, while knowing when to involve or consult others and when to work independently.
- You are a collaborative and supportive team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive working relationships across different departments and with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
- You are flexible and adaptable, able to remain calm and constructive when priorities change or unexpected situations arise in a fast-paced environment.
- You have knowledge of and experience with planning and scheduling, the Working Hours Act (ATW) and the collective labour agreement (CAO), and are comfortable working with planning and administration systems such as Yesplan.
- You have excellent Dutch and English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- You hold a work permit for The Netherlands
- General knowledge of the international contemporary dance sector and an interest in contemporary dance are an advantage.
