Why did you become a professional dancer?
“The practice of dance carries a special weight in me. I hold it everywhere I go and it holds me in return. My duty is to take care of it, to keep it alive.”
What is it about NDT that deepens your artistry?
“NDT is in my eyes an incredibly rich pool of languages. Being part of it is being able to experience a multitude of worlds all at once. I am constantly drawn to the collective, the diverse approaches and the choices my colleagues make.”
How do you think art impacts your personal life, and the way you view the world?
“Dance is one of many facets of art I enjoy practicing. I see it as something whole, extending in one continuous line: it’s everywhere. It disperses in many directions, but my through line seems to get sharper every day.”
I wish to create intrigue. The 'Not knowing' when seeing a dance. The curiosity of not being certain and making the answer, if there is one, something personal. Dance is ambiguous, it can hold a million different meanings. This exact engagement is for me the most precious thing a performer can ask for.
