How and why did you become a professional dancer?
"Because a little girl had a passion that only grew bigger with time. Through lots of hard work, sacrifice, and the invaluable guidance of teachers and loved ones who believed in her, she is now a professional dancer."
What is it about NDT that inspires/challenges/deepens your artistry?
"The people. These artists are some of the most intelligent, curious and aware human beings I've ever met. The movement created in this space is so rich and profound; everyone has something to say in the space. NDT as a whole is a dynamic, endlessly curious home."
How do you think art impacts your personal life, and the way you view the world?
"Dance has been a constant source of energy and guidance through life. It has allowed me to connect with extraordinary people, immerse myself in different cultures, and engage in meaningful conversations. Art is everywhere and in everyone. The body is art. Art is culture. I am an artist."
What do you hope to bring to the audience as an artist?
"An invitation. I simply invite you to join me on the ride."
My view on the world is processed through dance. As much as the studio is an escape, it's also a space to reflect on the world we live in and not be afraid of honest conversation. My view is constantly challenged through dance and the space this artform lives in.
