Tom Weinberger

Choreographer

Tom Weinberger (Israel) graduated from the Amal School of Arts and Sciences. He then joined the Batsheva Ensemble and later the Batsheva Dance Company under the artistic direction of Ohad Naharin. In 2012, he became a founding member of L-E-V, led by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar.

Weinberger has danced with companies including Gothenburg Ballet (Sweden), Winterguests by Alan Lucien Øyen (Norway), Emanuel Gat Dance (France), and has appeared as a guest artist with Michael Keegan-Dolan’s Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre (Ireland) and The Forsythe Company (Germany).

He began choreographing through the Batsheva Dancers Create initiative during his time with the company. In 2014, his first solo work won the International Solo Tanz Theater Festival in Stuttgart and subsequently toured throughout Europe and South America. Since then, he has created works for Johannes Wieland Company, Ate9, Springboard Danse Montréal, Haramt Massah Festival, Arts Umbrella, NSP2, Tanz Luzern, Iceland Dance Company, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, St. Gallen Dance, Gärtnerplatz Theatre, Inbal Dance Company and many others.

In 2021, Weinberger also created the site-specific work The Most Fascinating Problem In The World for NDT 2.
