Sol León
Choreographer
As a choreographic duo, León and Lightfoot have worked together since 1989 and have created more than fifty works for the company. Their work has received numerous dance awards and is performed by companies around the world.
Sol León (Córdoba, Spain) moved to The Hague in 1987 to join NDT 2 after graduating from the National Ballet Academy in Madrid. In 1989, she became a member of NDT 1, where she performed in masterpieces by Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Mats Ek and Ohad Naharin. In 2002, León and Lightfoot were appointed Resident Choreographers of NDT. León continued dancing until 2003, after which she devoted herself entirely to choreography together with Paul Lightfoot. From 2012 to 2020, Sol León served as Artistic Advisor to NDT.
