Over het werk
Associate choreographer Marco Goecke created one of his most personal and vulnerable works, The Big Crying(2021), shortly after the death of his father. As Goecke says, “It is a piece about parting and about everything we have to burn.” Set to a score by Tori Amos, the dancers’ bodies move like broken engines in Goecke’s complex and emotionally charged language. The Big Crying celebrates the urge to be alive, even in times of loss
