Beste dansliefhebber,

Van harte welkom bij Into the Hairy, het laatste NDT 1-programma van seizoen 2024-2025!
Ik ben trots dat we het seizoen afsluiten met dit bijzondere werk van samenwerkingspartners Sharon Eyal en Gai Behar.

Als huis van creatie richten we ons op onderzoek en artistieke uitwisseling, en Into the Hairy is hier een perfect voorbeeld van. Het geliefde werk werd in 2023 gemaakt voor 7 dansers, maar Eyal voelde dat het verdiept kon worden met een groter ensemble, in samenwerking met NDT. Vanavond zie je 28 dansers op het podium, zowel van Sharon Eyal Dance (S-E-D) als NDT 1, die laten zien hoe het samenkomen van verschillende stemmen zorgt voor inspiratie, uitwisseling én nieuwe perspectieven op dit fascinerende werk.

Eyal staat bekend om het creëren van fysiek uitdagende en gewaagde werken die de kern van menselijke emoties raken. Ook in Into the Hairy komen deze kenmerken terug, ondersteund door de prachtige kostuums van Dior en een soundtrack speciaal gemaakt door componist Koreless. Het werk is persoonlijk, primair en gelaagd tegelijk, en onderzoekt de donkere kanten van ons mens-zijn. Door klassiek ballet, hedendaagse dans en de underground clubcultuur met elkaar te combineren, creëert Eyal een wereld die zowel hypnotiserend als simpelweg onvergetelijk is.
