Experience NDT’s process and languages of dance

Experience NDT’s creative process and our dance languages during the NDT Open Studio repertory workshop. Together with one of our dancers, young people ages 15 and up will dive into repertory that is being performed in a show in the The Hague at that time – and that makes each new workshop completely new. Afterwards, you can attend the performance for a discounted price.

To celebrate ZŌ by NDT 1, choreographed by Ohad Naharin, we will be rounding off the season with a Gaga/dancers workshop instead of an NDT Open Studio. Read more about Gaga at the bottom of this page.

Gaga/dancers classes are open to dancers and advanced dance students ages 16+.

Gaga/dancers

Gaga/dancers deepens dancers’ awareness of physical sensations, expands their palette of available movement options, enhances their ability to modulate their energy and engage their explosive power, and enriches their movement quality with a wide range of textures.

The classes are built on the same principles as Gaga classes but also employ the specific vocabulary and skills that are part and parcel of a dancer’s knowledge. The layering of familiar skills with Gaga tasks presents dancers with fresh challenges, and throughout the class, teachers prompt the dancers to visit more unfamiliar places and ways of moving as well, unlocking the endlessness of possibilities. Dancers are guided to connect their effort to pleasure and to discover the virtue of silliness.

After purchasing a ticket for the NDT Open Studio, you will receive a discount code via e-mail for the performance of the programme to which the NDT Open Studio is linked. With this discount code you can purchase your performance ticket in Amare, The Hague, with a 5 euro discount.
