NDT 2 brengt The beauty of it all, een voorstelling die de ultieme balans slaat tussen klassiek NDT en verrassende nieuwe perspectieven. Op tournee van 14 maart t/m 2 mei.
Op donderdag 16 mei gaat de nieuwe NDT 1-voorstelling Do Not Run Fly in première. Te zien t/m 8 juni.
De voorstelling in dit programma heeft plaatsgevonden in seizoen 2017-2018.
In Switch ‘18 nemen de dansers van NDT 1 en NDT 2 de leiding en stellen eigenhandig een uniek programma samen van door henzelf gecreëerde choreografieën. Niet alleen de artistieke invulling, maar ook de productie, marketing, communicatie en fondsenwerving liggen in hun handen. De gehele opbrengst van de avond gaat naar een door de dansers gekozen goed doel: Instituto Terra.
“Voor NDT-dansers is het een geweldige ervaring om deel uit te maken van Switch. Het biedt een platform om andere vaardigheden uit te oefenen; van choreograferen en dansen tot produceren en organiseren. De opbrengsten gaan naar een goed doel, wat het proces van dit event nog meer de moeite waard maakt. Zo kan onze kunst niet alleen inspireren, maar het kan ook de minder bedeelden op verschillende manieren ondersteunen.”

Uit het programmaboek van Switch ’18: “For this edition of Switch, the dancers of Netherlands Dance Theatre collectively chose Instituto Terra as this year’s charity. A Brazilian organization, Instituto Terra was founded by renowned photographer Sebastiao Salgado and his partner, Lelia Deluiz Wanick Salgado. The organization works to protect the Brazilian tropical rainforest against deforestation. This year, Instituto Terra is celebrating its 20-year anniversary and all that has been accomplished in that time. Almost 7.000 hectares of rainforest have been sustainably restored. Several reforestation project have proven that, with the aid of sustainable policy, lost flora and fauna can return to their original state. To ensure that similar projects can be undertaken in the future, Instituto Terra collects and produces the seedlings of 290 different local plant species. Furthermore, the organization counts environmental education among its main priorities. Key figures in Brazilian land management, such as farmers, engineers, mayors and politicians, have received training through more than 700 educational projects. And teachers in elementary and high schools have been encouraged to promote the message of Instituto Terra to young generations. Through Switch, Netherlands Dans Theatre supports Instituto Terra to ensure that they can continue their beautiful and important mission.”
