Danser in de Klas

Today is an exciting day, since a dancer comes to visit the class! We sit down in a circle and the dancer moves between us. Look how flexible she is and how well she stands on one leg ….

During the project Danser in de Klas, primary school students get to know NDT on a personal level. One of the dancers of our company will come to visit and perform a solo in class.

To prepare the students, the dancer’s visit is guided by an introduction lesson from the Talent Development & Education department of NDT. The project ends with an in-depth dance workshop at school for the students. During this workshop, the students get to work with the various elements of modern dance based on the movement material that the dancer introduced them to. The in-depth workshop is given by a teacher from the Talent Development & Education department.

Our teachers are very enthusiastic about the quality of the dancer visiting the class en the workshops that have been held. The children also found it very special. For many of them, modern dance was a new thing to see and to experience. I myself am a friend of NDT and have been watching their performances for a number of years now. With this project, I enjoyed it again.
