Danser in de Klas

Today is an exciting day, since a dancer comes to visit the class! We sit down in a circle and the dancer moves between us. Look how flexible she is and how well she stands on one leg ….

Danser in de Klas is a special encounter between a dancer from NDT and the students in your class, focusing on the shared dance experience. The class sits in a circle, in the middle is the dance floor. Let the performance begin!

The dancer performs a solo especially for the students. After the solo, the students process their viewing experience during an interaction moment with the dancer, led by one of our dance teachers. This way they experience for themselves what it is like to be a dancer! The whole activity lasts 50 minutes.

Location of the performance
Because this performance takes place in the gym, the children experience the solo from their own safe environment. This creates a unique experience and a personal connection between the dancer and the students. Therefore, it is imperative that the dancer’s visit takes place in a gym or lockable room of similar size.

Our teachers are very enthusiastic about the quality of the dancer visiting the class en the workshops that have been held. The children also found it very special. For many of them, modern dance was a new thing to see and to experience. I myself am a friend of NDT and have been watching their performances for a number of years now. With this project, I enjoyed it again.
