From techno to classical music
In every NDT programme, you'll hear different genres of music. From pulsating techno beats to compelling classical music, and everything in between. Sometimes, the music is even performed live - whether by an orchestra or musicians on stage. In choreographer Hofesh Shechter's new work, which is part of Out of the stillness, he even composed his own music! When experiencing the world premiere of Noé Soulier in Blast a universe, you'll hear ambient electronic music combined with sounds of nature – all from the creative mind of composer Sa Pa. In Ties Unseen, created by Christos Papadopoulos and part of Everywhere is here, minimalistic techno beats slowly but surely draw you in and build the tension on stage.

Live music
The choreographers decide on the score of their works. In the programme A poem for the world, two out of three works are accompanied by live music. There's a quartet that plays a composition by Milko Lazar, and you'll also hear Schubert's piano sonata. An enriching experience as an audience member!

Dance as suspenseful as a thriller
Regardless of the NDT programme you decide to go for, there's always something for everyone. Are you into thrillers and suspense? Don't miss out on the gripping The missing door by Gabriela Carrizo – part of the programme Out of the stillness. Would you rather be transported to another world, or are you fond of Benjamin Clementine's music? Then you'll really enjoy the full-length work GONE by Associate Choreographer Marcos Morau– known for acclaimed works such as Folkå and Horses. Or are you more into raw emotions and would you like to discover Associate Choreographer Marco Goecke's most personal work to date? Don't miss The Big Crying, part of Blast a universe, about loss, mourning, and our lust for life. Accompanied by a beautiful score by Tori Amos!
Modern art and sleepless nights
In a choreographer’s creative process, they're bound to experience a few sleepless nights. Master choreographer Jiří Kylián used this phenomenon and what happens in our subconsciousness, as themes for his work Sleepless – part of Blast a universe. He was also inspired by the groundbreaking art of Lucio Fontana, who's works broke the rules of dimensions in modern art. And thus, making Sleepless a compelling work with mesmerising duets, artistic stage design, and poetic choreography.
Almost 70 years of rebellious dance
NDT was founded in 1959 out of the urge to rebel against the status quo in ballet. And this desire to research, innovate, and create, is still present in our programmes today! You can experience it for yourself in the playful world premiere of choreographer Johan Inger, part of A poem for the world, or the emotionally charged new creation of Marco Goecke, in Everywhere is here.
