About the programme

Marcos Morau – Folkå

With the return of Folkå (2021), created in collaboration with the dancers of NDT 2, we get another chance to experience Marcos Morau's distinct narrative and aesthetic. In this work centred around ritual, an evocative story is told about community and its customs and traditions. To move forward together, we play a game of cooperation and connection, in which we spin, sing and dance to achieve our common desires.

A pulsating visual and auditory landscape, Folkå takes us on a journey of human sounds, chants, and skin drums, where our feet make the ground move. It presents a ritual for our time, where looking to the past reminds us of our place in the endless cycle of life and we celebrate mankind's relationship to nature.

"Under a starry sky, one night of any year in history, a group of beings gather to celebrate life and challenge the questions that have moved us since the beginning of time." - Marcos Morau

Nadav Zelner – World premiere

In Nadav Zelner's second work for NDT 2, his passion for dance and music comes together in a complex choreography that inspires the artistic virtuosity of the dancers. His dance productions combine wondrous imaginary worlds full of unexpected images, influenced by popular culture and supported by a keen eye for design and ear for music.

The work examines and celebrates life – even when it is not easy to digest. It lets us experience the rich, percussive language of movement Zelner has developed and honed, and offers glimpses into the creation of a new dance style that invites audiences into a daring and delightful world full of wonder.

"When freedom meets boundaries, the universe invites the flies to eliminate the barriers. You are all invited." - Nadav Zelner
