Close Up #3

Close Up #3

Onwards and Upwards!

Welcome to the third edition of Close Up. This issue centers around moving forward. While the end of season 2020-2021 is fast approaching, there are still some exciting projects we will present before the summer break. Plus, in the new season ahead, we are looking forward to reopening our doors for you again with an inspired programme that celebrates a diversity of ideas and creative voices while highlighting NDT’s distinctive artistic versatility.

Even though the global Covid-19 pandemic forced its way into our lives, the importance of art remains the same. Today, more than ever, we need channels of expression, we need art, to help us examine the world and inspire dialogue. The experience of art is an active, ever changing one that has the power to transform a room, a person, and a way of seeing things. Art has no borders.

In this issue we will introduce you to the work of Alan Lucien Øyen, a much in demand choreographic voice from Norway who will be creating with the NDT dancers for the very first time in season 2021-2022.  Furthermore, this issue will offer a sneak peek into Amare, our new home as of September 2021. Lastly, we have also updated the agenda and offer you film and music tips for inspiration in the warmer months to come.

Through your generous contributions and involvement as a Fonds NDT participant, Friend or close relation to the company, you are of significant value in realizing our ambition and dedication to creation, research and talent development. We thank you deeply for your ongoing engagement and greatly appreciate your feedback, questions and thoughts, so feel free to keep sharing them with us!

Please stayed tuned for more information about the 2021-22 season!
In the meantime, from all of us at NDT, I wish you a wonderful summer break.

Warmly,
Emily Molnar
Artistic Director
