Danser in de Klas

A school visit from a professional dancer!
Kindergarten and grade 1-2
This special project involves a classroom visit by a dancer from NDT. The dancer performs a solo right in the middle of the children, who are seated around in a circle. The dancer’s visit is preceded by an introductory class and followed by a dance workshop taught at the school.

Visiting the theatre together!
Grade 3-6
Twice every season, NDT stages a performance featuring beautiful and humorous highlights from NDT 2 performances. These performances are created especially for students in the upper years of primary school (grades 3 to 6). Before the students visit the school performances, a preparatory modern dance workshop will take place at the school.

NDT Apps - Parade en Dreamplay

Parade and Dreamplay
Grade 1-4
Discover the educational dance apps created for teachers who are interested in creatively bringing the world of dance into their classrooms. The app Parade is centered aroundthe ballet of the Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. The app Dreamplay focuses on the ballet of the Swedish choreographer Johan Inger.

A dance curriculum for schools
Kindergarten – grade 6
Danswaaier is a series of three to five classes to introduce pupils to NDT and modern dance. The classes are adapted to the learning goals for art in primary schools and suit the stages of development of children in the various years.

Van beroep: Danser!

Discover dance as a profession
Grade 3 – 6
The project Van beroep: Danser! consists of three activities in which student can discover the talents necessary to make dance your profession. This activitiy includes a visit to Nederlands Dans Theater as well as to the Royal Conservatory Dance Department.

NDT works together with a number of partner schools to experiment with activities for primary schools and use this experiment to develop new educational projects. The main focus of these partnerships is the interaction between the two institutions.
