triptych – peeping tom

Internationaal Theater Amsterdam presents the live stream Triptych, a triptych of works by choreographers Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier, on Saturday 3 April. The three works The missing door, The lost room and The hidden floor were previously created by Carrizo & Chartier for NDT and are now adapted for their own company Peeping Tom.

“All the well-known ingredients of Peeping Tom are present again: dance, acrobatics, illusionism, cinematic suspense.” – NRC.

ITA presents 'Tryptich'
Curtain call with Donnie and Isla
In Baby don’t hurt me, choreographers Imre van Opstal en Marne van Opstal focus on the individual struggles and show a personal side of the NDT 1 dancers.
Isla and Donnie are two NDT 1 dancers who performed in Baby don’t hurt me during the live streams of the NDT 1 programme Shadow’s Whispers. In this video they talk about their experiences while working with Imre and Marne and the opportunity to be their true and whole selves on stage. Isla and Donnie touch subjects as diversity, inclusion and their own conflicts within themselves and their profession. During the process of Baby don’t hurt me the dancers and choreographers worked in many different ways, allowing the dancers to find their own story and learn to express their difficulties and struggle.
demi bawon tips: move

“Last year Netflix released a dance series called Move in which you get a closer look at the process and lives of choreographers such as Ohad Naharin and Akram Khan. I think this is a great and easily accessible option for everyone!” – Demi Bawon, apprentice with NDT 2.

We also mentioned the series Move in the previous Close Up magazine. If you haven’t seen the series yet, it is definitely recommended.
