After creating eleven works for the company over the past decades, we are delighted to welcome associate choreographer Marco Goecke back for a compelling world premiere. Created together with the NDT 1 dancers, this highly personal work celebrates the dancers’ extraordinary versatility, highlighting both their characters and their collective energy on stage. As Goecke explains: “This new work continues my close relationship with NDT, built on mutual trust, artistic exploration, and a deep understanding of the dancers’ strengths.” Goecke's emotionally charged and complex movement unfolds with relentless focus and detail, creating an intense, visceral experience that Goecke is renowned for.

We return to choreographer Christos Papadopoulos’ ode to invisible forces, Ties Unseen (2024). In the work, Papadopoulos explores subtle, everyday social connections that often go unnoticed, yet intricately shape the tapestry of our lives. “We truly need one another—just as everything in nature does—not only to survive, but to make life easier and joyful. This need is dramatically affecting my work,” Papadopoulos shares. Set to a swelling electronic soundscape, we witness the dancers move through space in unison while retaining their individuality—revealing the beauty and complexity of an evolving collective system. Ties Unseen is a mesmerising experience that slowly draws you in.
