Amancio Gonzalez, born in Spain, studied dance with Ion Beitia in Las Arenas, Spain, and at Centre International de Danse Rossella Hightower in Cannes, with José Ferrán. His first engagement as a dancer was with Scottish Ballet. After dancing with several other companies he joined Ballett Frankfurt and later The Forsythe company, where he worked with William Forsythe for 16 years, until the closure of The Forsythe Company. He then became a member of Dance On Ensemble, for dancers over 40. At present he works as a freelance dancer, ballet teacher and Forsythe’s works stager.
