Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies. With two companies and a total of 48 dancers, NDT travels all over the world. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of around 70 professionals ensures every performance is a world-class experience. From light and sound design to medical support and education, every detail matters – and so do you.

We are seeking a decisive and solution-oriented colleague for the Company Management department.

What You’ll Do

The Contracts and Licences Coordinator, working closely with colleagues, is responsible for negotiating, drafting and finalising contracts for international performances and all productions. In addition, the team arranges and records agreements relating to all music rights. Working within a multi year plan, the Contracts and Licences Coordinator is part of a small team and is responsible for a varied portfolio of programmes and tours.

  • You will be involved in negotiating, drafting and concluding contracts with international presenters, artistic teams of (new) productions and guest lecturers.
  • You will be responsible for the timely coordination, organisation and recording of music rights for performances and events in our home theatre as well as on tour.
  • You will advise choreographers and composers on the (financial) feasibility of music choices and record agreements with the various parties.
  • You will provide overviews and reports relating to contracts, productions and music rights.
  • You will maintain accurate financial records, send invoices for international contracts and keep systems up to date.

Who are you?

In addition to a love for dance and good organisational skills, you recognise yourself in the following:

  •  You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking, preferably in a legal, commercial or cultural field.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in contract negotiations, preferably in the theatre sector, and relationship management comes naturally to you.
  • You have a solid knowledge of copyright, licences and royalties and the legal frameworks surrounding them.
  • You have a good command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Other languages are an advantage.
  • You have experience with (planning) systems, preferably Monday and Yesplan.
