Switch ’27

Switch offers an opportunity for our talented dancers to give back, develop themselves, and connect with our audience on a more personal level. Aside from the magic that happens on stage, the charity of the dancers’ choice is supported through ticket sales, merchandise, silent auctions, and much more. The proceeds of past editions have gone to important charities such as COC Nederland, Doctors without Borders, and War Child.

“To me, Switch is many things. Humbling in the way that we must learn exactly what it takes to organise an evening of dance and galvanising to the respect we have for colleagues who seamlessly manage these tasks every day. It’s connecting because we bundle our resources, time, and spirit, to nurture our collective creativity and celebrate the pursuit of something difficult and undefined.  Switch breaks up our rhythm as dancers at NDT and prompts us to reconsider the way of things, to gather as a community and look forward to future makers. Theatre is for me always a pleasure regardless of what I present or receive, but to make art for a beautiful charity with friends and to be moved by my friend’s art-—it is simply the best!”
