How and why did you become a professional dancer?

“Dance has always been an anchor for me growing up, offering a space for self-expression, a close-knit community, and an immediate way of connecting with new people. I am continually drawn to this rich and diverse physical language that exists between complete strangers; dancers, makers and audiences alike, and the way it allows for meeting, understanding, and shared experience beyond words.”

What is it about NDT that inspires or challenges your artistry?

“What inspires and challenges me about NDT is its commitment to dance as a living, physical language that continually pushes the boundaries of what is possible. Being in a place that is oozing with creativity in every facet is deeply inspiring and challenges me to remain open, curious, and present. It reflects my belief in movement as a space for meeting, communication, and shared human experience beyond words, and deepens my understanding of dance as a space of infinite possibility that can reflect and reimagine the world around us.”

How do you think art impacts your personal life, and the way you view the world?

“Art has continually taught me to cultivate compassion for myself and others, to trust vulnerability, and to move through life with courage and boldness. Through art and dance, I am reminded of the infinite possibilities of human expression and of the worlds we are capable of imagining and creating.”

My grandest hope is to bring audiences on an unexpected journey or reconnect them with something familiar. To invite them to imagine what is possible, to marvel in the effort, or to be whisked away into a trance where, for a moment, they forget where they are.
