In this programme:

Stop-Motion - Sol León & Paul Lightfoot
Stop-Motion was created by house choreographers Sol León en Paul Lightfoot for the NDT 1 repertoire. The ballet premiered on January 29, 2014. On melancholic music by Max Richter seven dancers depict a process of farewell and transformation. As ephemeral as the dust, they grace the stage like ghosts or spirits; lighting up in and fading out. In this way, many elements in Stop-Motion address the notions of past and future and how they merge into the present. This is reinforced by large screens that show delayed video projections, which include their daughter Saura. Stop-Motion was critically acclaimed and received four stars in the press.

Shoot the Moon - Sol León & Paul Lightfoot
In Shoot the Moon you catch glimpses of the love life of three different couples. Revolving walls covered in black-and-white wallpaper create three separate rooms, each containing its own love story. The door and windows to the other room seem to be simultaneously open and closed; accessible yet unattainable. New worlds beckon behind them, yet to they are always out of reach. Shoot the Moon is about the one thing that can create or change it: the emotions hidden inside our relationships.

World premiere - Crystal Pite
Crystal Pite’s gripping work is never afraid to explore the body’s full potential, and rarely escapes its relation to the group. Her latest piece, The Statement (2016) on scripted spoken word by
Jonathon Young, had international audiences sitting on the edge of their seats. Pite has been an associate choreographer with the company since 2008.
