Season 2020-2021 | Second half

Programming January - July 2021

This theater season is extraordinary as a result of the developments around COVID-19. Our dancers and the rest of the organization always adapt to the situation as best they can. Meanwhile, beautiful, new creation processes take place and we present you beautiful, new programs. Only a very small audience can see them in the theater, but fortunately a much larger audience can see them in our digital theater on ndt.nl. More than 15,000 visitors in more than 50 different countries have already bought a ticket for our live streams, and even more watched them.

Below you will find an overview of the performances that NDT 1 and NDT 2 will stage in the second half of the 2020-2021 season. In addition, we are working on new projects outside of our regular programming, which will take place in surprising places. We are also bringing back a special project at the end of the season to say goodbye to our current home, the Lucent Danstheater.
Keep an eye on our website!

Please note: due to the uncertainty regarding the corona measures that apply at the time of the performances, ticket sales for each program of NDT performances in the Zuiderstrandtheater will start approximately one month before the premiere date. (Ticket sales of other theaters in the Netherlands might start earlier, please see the website of any particular theater.)

We obviously hope that our program as presented here can continue unchanged. But if the corona measures are tightened again in the second half of the season, it is unfortunately possible that performances will be canceled again. We thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

All performances and dates are subject to change. We advise you to keep an eye on the websites of NDT and of the theater where you want to visit a NDT performance.

This was not the season we planned for, but we have decided to embrace it as the season that will define us in unique ways.

Emily Molnar
Artistic director NDT

Switch '21

The dancers of NDT 1 and NDT 2 organize a unique programme every year: Switch. An evening entirely composed by the dancers, of which the entire revenue will be donated to a charity fund chosen by them. For Switch ’21, all revenues will be donated to COC Nederland, an organization that strives for the decriminalization of sexual orientation and gender identity and for equal rights, emancipation and social acceptance of LGBT’s in the Netherlands and all over the world.

The performances were scheduled for 15 and 16 January and unfortunately cannot take place due to the new measures. We are looking for new performance dates. As soon as these are known, we will inform you about this via our website.

Meet our artistic director Emily Molnar

Since August 2020, Emily Molnar is the new artistic director of NDT. Her commencement of the position kicked off during one of the most challenging periods for the company and the dance world to date, with an invisible virus having far-reaching consequences.

Meet Emily Molnar in this conversation, in which she tells more about where she comes from, but most importantly about where she wants to go with NDT.
