Activities for primary education
We organize a combination of activities for primary school children (Kindergarten and grades 1 through 6) that focus on modern dance and NDT. The goal of the activities is to acquaint young children with the art of dance. The point of departure is: to experience dance not only by looking at it and talking about it, but also by moving and creating dance.
All educational activities by NDT are programmed by the Talent Development and Education department. For more information on our activities for primary school, please contact us at 070 - 88 00 144 or onderwijs(at)ndt.nl
Dancer in the Classroom -
A school visit from a professional dancer
This special project involves a classroom visit from NDT. The dancer will perform a solo piece for the class, which is seated in a surrounding circle. The dancer’s visit is preceded by an introductory class and followed by a dance workshop taught at the school.
NDT School Performances -
Visiting the theatre
Twice every season, NDT stages a performance featuring highlights from NDT 2 performances (some beautiful, some humorous). These performances are created especially for students in the upper years of primary school (Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the Dutch education system, or the international equivalent depending on your country). Schools have the option to enhance the performance experience by adding a behind-the-scenes tour or a dance workshop taught at the school.
