Artistic Producer (x/v/m)

80-100% employment (100% is 38.00 hours per week)

Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is an international and leading contemporary dance company with two dance groups, NDT 1 and NDT 2. We are a house for creation. Behind the scenes, approximately seventy dedicated employees work to perfect the performances, educational activities and the dance experience of the audience and participants. From lighting and sound design, costumes, production and technology, marketing to HR and finance. Committed to diverse ideas and approaches to dance, we continuously collaborate with both emerging and established choreographers and artists from diverse backgrounds from around the world. What are you going to do?

In this position you will work in close collaboration with the Artistic Director and across departments to coordinate and execute all artistic programming, planning and policies. This position is an important part of realizing the company’s goal to improve communications and processes. Concrete tasks are:

  • Assist in conceptualizing the artistic programming of NDT 1 and NDT 2.
  • Co-ordinate internal communication concerning artistic processes and planning across the organization.
  • Assist in artistic planning in consultation with the Artistic Director and Manager Planning & Touring.
  • Execute existing and new concepts and projects to deliver the NDT artistic vision and programming.
  • Co-ordinate with external collaborators on working periods and communication.
  • Oversee day to day communication of artistic staff.
  • Co-ordinate performance review process with NDT 1 and 2 dancers and artistic staff.
  • Execute systems for efficient and consistent dancer management.
  • Develop and co-ordinate systems to support external collaborators to the company.

What are your capabilities?

In addition to passion and enthusiasm for the profession, you recognize the following competencies in yourself:

  • A senior dance sector professional with international experience in artistic producing and administration.
  • Experience in working with diverse teams.
  • Experience with evaluation of program outcomes.
  • Strong sector network and positive relationship management skills.
  • Excellent in delivering tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work efficiently in a team or independently.
  • The ability to deal with complex and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (having Dutch communication skills is a plus).
