Edward Clug (Beius, 1973) decided to enroll at the dance academy to escape the repressive communist regime of Ceauşescu. In 1991 he became a principal at Maribor’s Slovene National Theater and made his first \choreography here. He joined the board of the Ballet Maribor in 1998. His international breakthrough as a choreographer came with Radio & Juliet (2005). Clug won several awards, including a special prize for his
performance Roses for Anne Teresa / Football Stories at the International Theatre Festival MESS in Sarajevo (2011 ). A part from a guest choreography for Station Zuid, Clug is not yet known in the Netherlands. This will
change when he creates a world premiere for NDT 2 in the Symphysis programme.
