... head the regional papers HDC on February 4. Programme III premiered on January 29 and was practically sold out in Lucent Danstheater. Today the show starts touring through the Netherlands.
The first programme of 2014 presents two acclaimed premieres and a thirty year old jewel. About the “ingenious choreography” Stop-Motion of León & Lightfoot, De Telegraaf concludes it is an important addition to the repertoire. Trouw praises the ability of the choreographers to shape dance as a visual poem, in which design and music determine the rhythm and emotions and metaphors are brought to life by dancers. De Volkskrant rewards the symbolic work with four stars. “The extremely refined qualities of the dancers ensure that interpretations may bubble up but still leave room for air. HDC shares the enthusiasm about the new creation: "Stop - Motion is of an astonishing beauty."
Also Marco Goeckes rapid dance language is highly appreciated. "Fascinating how Goecke with seemingly similar movements creates almost imperceptible development. Where the rapid, erratic movements first seem light and funny, they later come across as nervous and creepy" , the newspaper writes. HDC praises his remarkable dance idiom: "The German choreographer surprises and intrigues over and over again."
Trouw compliments the choice of the company to revive Heart’s Labyrinth next to these world premieres. HDC praises the mesmerizing opening scene and de Volkskrant is impressed by the inspirational performance. Finally, de Telegraaf highlights the "gorgeous final duet on dreamy music by Dvorak ".
Programme III tours through The Netherlands until February 22. Click here to reserve tickets online.
