Dutch VAT reduction on performing arts takes effect
The Dutch VAT rate for performing arts has once again been reduced from 19% to 6%. We are naturally delighted with this reduction because it will make our performances even more accessible to everyone! The measure means we will be able to reduce our ticket prices at our ‘own’ Lucent Danstheater for next season. The other theatres we perform at throughout the Netherlands will organise this themselves.
Have you already purchased tickets for the Lucent Danstheater?
The ticket prices will be reduced retroactively from 25 May 2012 for all performances from 1 July 2012. So if you purchased your tickets after 25 May we will return the overpaid VAT to you! You will be sent a letter and a restitution form next week.
Did you purchase tickets before 25 May 2012?
You will also be sent a personal message soon. We regret that we will be unable to offer financial compensation to these ticketholders because as a company we have already had to remit 19% VAT for these tickets. In order to nevertheless offer some form of recompense, we have come up with a gesture for these early bookers. More information will be provided in the letter you will receive next week.
