NDT will be presenting 11 world premieres during the season of 2012/2013 and will stage 92 performances in the Netherlands, as well as performing in countries such as Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Switzerlandand the United States. The venues where the company will be performing in The Netherlands will be extended to include Amsterdam’s Carré Theatre and other locations. Within The Hague dance network, NDT will be launching new talent and audience development projects in association with Korzo, Holland Dance and the Royal Conservatoire. Along with the NDT1 and NDT2 dance groups, the company will have a third division, ‘Move in’, devoted to cultural education.
An exciting new feature included in the programme this upcoming season is a collaboration between NDT choreographer Medhi Walerski and composer Joby Talbot, who, along with The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra, have been inspired by the centenary of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Artistic Director Paul Lightfoot has programmed full evening’s by a single choreographer, in order to give both the dance makers and the audience the opportunity to focus in depth on a specific choreographic vision. For León and Lightfoot, this will involve experimenting with new dance forms and a different way of looking at dance.
All details about the new programmes and the Dutch performances you'll find in the seasons brochure.
