Nederlands Dans Theater > Mémoires d'Oubliettes
Mémoires d’Oubliettes was made by Jiří Kylián in October 2009 and premiered during NDT's 50th anniversary celebrations. Mémoires d’Oubliettes has the characteristics of a farewell ballet. Not only does the ballet begin with an impressive bow, in slow motion, but throughout the entire ballet you can see hints that remind you of ballets from the past. Loud bursts of music alternate with nostalgic sounds and mysterious whispers. Mémoires d’Oubliettes is intriguing and fascinating; it is a treat for the eye with its special costumes, set and video projections.
