Kleines Requiem

Hans van Manen’s Kleines Requiem from 1996 has been called one of the high points in the master choreographer’s oeuvre. It is a ballet for seven dancers. Three couples dance their sensual and wistful duets in constantly changing combinations. But when a furious polka suddenly begins, all six are caught up in one swirling movement. The piece ends with a dramatic and moving duet.
