Tone Bone Kone

Johan Inger levert in dit programma zijn tweede creatie in zijn functie als ‘associate choreographer’ bij Nederlands Dans Theater. In 2003 werd hij artistiek directeur bij Cullberg Ballet, waar hij ook choreografeerde. In de zomer van 2007 besloot hij zich op het choreograferen te richten en stopte als artistiek directeur.  Zijn meest recente werken voor Cullberg Ballet waren Point of Eclipse (2007) en Position of Elsewhere (2009).

Zijn eerste creatie in de functie van ‘associate choreographer’ bij Nederlands Dans Theater, dissolve in this, was te zien in de Jubileumvoorstelling ter ere van het 50 jarig bestaan van Nederlands Dans Theater, in oktober 2009. Als gastchoreograaf maakte Inger eerder al onder andere Mellantid (Nederlands Dans Theater II, 1995), Dream Play (Nederlands Dans Theater II , 2000) en Walking Mad (Nederlands Dans Theater I, 2001).

Tone Bone Kone

is a collection of short solos accompanied by Arthur Russell´s World of Echo. Each part is a tiny story moving in and out from different perspectives of the songs, with their hushed vocals half sung and half whispered.

With an explicitly open, passionate and engaging style of movement, the idea is that the performer is in the process of building their own  relationship with the plucked, stroked and struck cello; together as a variation of ambiently spiked vocals, intimately transferred limbs as if each part is a little story that you try but fail to recall.
